Brett Mackey
Brett Mackey graduated High School in Lind, Washington in 1993. He attended Big Bend Community College and received an Associate in Arts Degree in 1995. In 2000, graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors of Science and also received his teaching degree. His wife and newborn son then moved to Ocean Shores, Washington. Over the next 17 years he grew his family and a love for the outdoors on the beautiful pacific coastline. Professionally, he was able to gain experience in many aspects of education. Those experiences included teaching k-12 health and physical education and middle school math, all while gaining experience in coaching football, basketball and baseball. In 2012, he attended Seattle Pacific University where he completed his masters degree in Educational Leadership providing experience as an administrator. There he was able to act as an assistant principal/athletic director and eventually the principal at North Beach Jr./Sr. High School. In 2017 he was hired at Newport High School to become a Grizzly. Most recently, Mr. Mackey has added head coach to his list of duties in Newport as the head boys basketball coach. His wife and three kids have loved being a part of such a special community and Grizzly Ohana.
